Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell Claims To Be ‘Best Player In The Draft’
The 2015 NBA Draft Lottery is right around the corner with plenty of teams gearing up to learn where their draft position will be. With quite a few talented young players leaving college for the NBA, have a pick in the top-five will be crucial.
One player that will almost certainly be taken within the top-five is Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell. Many believe Russell is the best guard in the draft and could be poised to become a superstar on the next level if given the right opportunity.
Along with receiving high praise as potentially be best point guard in the upcoming draft, Russell made a bold statement recently claiming he’s the best player period. Russell said the following during the NBA Draft Combine earlier this week, via the Philadelphia 76ers Vine account:
An argument can and will be made for Emmanuel Mudiay being the best guard in the draft. Mudiay decided to bypass college and play professionally overseas. The move seems to have paid off with the guard expected to be taken in the top-five as well on June 25.
Other notable players receiving serious consideration to be selected in the top-five picks during the draft include Jahlil Okafor (Duke), Karl-Anthony Towns (Kentucky), Justise Winslow (Duke), Stanley Johnson (Arizona) and Willie Cauley-Stein (Kentucky). It’s possible that other players emerge as potential candidates to be taken in the top-five with a little more than a month to go until draft day, but it’d be safe to say Russell, Muiday, and the other players mentioned will be the ones taken.
