Pacers Hang On Against Nets, Bulls Fall To Pelicans
The two ranked teams in the NBA Central were involved in some entertaining games last night. The Indiana Pacers was able to hang on and beat the Brooklyn Nets 97-96, while the Chicago Bulls lost to the New Orleans Pelicans 88-79.
Nets @ Pacers
This is the last time the Pacers and Nets will face off and and the Pacers have now swept the season series.
The Pacers swept the season series from the Nets for the third time in five seasons. David West scored seven of the Pacers last eight points to lift Indiana over the Nets. Â West had 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists on the night.
The Pacers struggled to get away from the Nets all night. They went on repeated point runs, but the Nets just would not go away and kept chipping away at the Pacers lead. Brooklyn could have put the game away in the fourth quarter, but got out rebounded by the Pacers, even at one point giving the Pacers three chances to make a shot.
The Pacers will play Orlando on Monday, while the Nets had a game today against Philadelphia.
Bulls @ Pelicans
Anthony Davis was hot during this game. Â He became the first player since Patrick Ewing in 1990 to record 22 points and six block shots in three consecutive games.
Davis hot streak is what lead the Pelicans over the Bulls has he swatted away and scored over Bulls center Joakim Noah all night. Davis was perhaps playing with a bit of chip on his shoulder due to his well-documented All-Star snub.
The Bulls spent nearly the whole game behind the Pelicans. New Orleans pulled ahead of the Bulls in the second quarter.
Up next for Chicago is a game on Monday in Sacramento. Â The Pelicans play San Antonio on Monday.
