Packers QB Aaron Rodgers cleared to play in Week 15

Aaron Rodgers has been medically cleared to play in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback announced the news on Instagram Tuesday.

At 7-6 on the season, the Packers have an outside shot at earning a playoff spot. They’d have to win out and get some help from those above them in the standings. But there’s a chance.

That’s more than we could have said prior to the past two games, both of which Green Bay won in overtime with Brett Hundley under center.

Questions came up earlier this week that suggested the Packers might want to play it close to the vest with a quarterback that suffered a broken collarbone back in Week 6. At the same time, Rodgers apparently was urging the team to activate him.

Fortunately for Green Bay, Rodgers will indeed be activated from injured reserve after suffering a broken collarbone back in Week 6. He’ll be under center Sunday against the Panthers in what amounts to being a must-win outing for Rodgers and his Packers.
