Packers reportedly interested in Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson hasn’t received much interest around the league since free agency kicked off, but one team could be looking at him with interest.
“The Green Bay Packers have some interest in a visit with Peterson, but it’s believed that might not happen until after the team can take stock of its roster following the draft,†wrote Ben Goessling of ESPN.
If the Packers end up bringing Peterson aboard, it would be quite an interesting turn of events. Obviously Peterson is well known to the Packers, and they to him, based on the fact that he played his entire career in the NFC North.
Playing for Green Bay would be a great chance for Peterson to show the Minnesota Vikings they made the wrong choice to kick him to the curb. They did so in favor of Latavius Murray, who interestingly just had ankle surgery, days after being signed to a three-year deal.
If the Packers get through the draft and still have a need at running back, they could do a lot worse than bringing in Peterson. Over the course of his 10-year career, he’s racked up 11,747 rushing yards and 102 total touchdowns.
