Just days after NBA legend Patrick Ewing announced he tested positive for the coronavirus, the New York Knicks icon received great news over the weekend following his health scare.

On Monday, Patrick Ewing Jr. announced his father was released from the hospital and is improving on his own at home. While the family will continue to monitor the Hall of Famer’s health, it’s tremendous news for the 57-year-old coach.

Patrick Ewing now serves as the men’s basketball coach at Georgetown. He revealed that he had COVID-19 and was in the hospital on Friday. In his statement, the 11-time All-Star center said he wanted to raise awareness for the severity of the pandemic and the coronavirus.
Fortunately, Ewing now joins the hundreds of thousands who have recovered from the coronavirus. We continue to wish a full recovery for him and wishes of health for his family.
