New Orleans Pelicans Odds After Sweep
The New Orleans Pelicans have swept the Portland Trail Blazers. It has had little effect on the Pelicans odds, however.
The Pelicans are the only team to sweep their way through Round 1, and it should count for something. The Pelicans started the season +2000 in the future odds. They only made the playoffs thanks to a big run in the weeks leading to the start of Round 1.
Despite all that, they deconstructed and dominated the Blazers, a team many had listed as the third best team in the playoffs, West or East.

Despite all that the books have changed the Pelicans future odds very little, listed at +3500 at Bovada. This could be because they will take on either the San Antonio Spurs or the Golden State Warriors. For the sake of honesty, it will likely be the Warriors. Golden State of course is the huge favorite to win it all, only rivaled by Houston in the odds.
The likelihood of New Orleans taking the Warriors to task and taking that series is unlikely. However, with this Round 1 sweep of the Blazers that potential series is definitely going to be more interesting to bet on.
