Pirates Ace Will Go Up Against Dodgers Ace

Gerrit Cole is the Pittsburgh Pirates ace pitcher and has yet to be considered an underdog this season, but the odds have shifted out of his favor as Pittsburgh is scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers with arguably the best pitcher in baseball taking the mound, Clayton Kershaw.

The Dodgers are the favorites, with a –138 moneyline, against the Pirates in the opener of this three-game series. The Dodgers are also –115 favorites ton win the whole series.

Kershaw is seeing his second lowest price of the season. This is the first time in over seven starts that his price has fallen below –205.

Kershaw’s stellar pitching has not necessarily translated to wins for the Dodgers, however. He has only won 12 of his 21 starts this season. He currently is on a 37 inning scoreless streak, though.

Cole leads all of baseball with 14 wins and his in fifth place in overall ERA with his sitting at 2.29. Cole has won 16 of 21 games this season.

This will be the first time these two teams have met since last year when the Pirates bested LA. The Pirates have won six of their last eight games against LA.

The total is set at six runs. With both Cole and Kershaw on the mound expect the UNDER to be the most popular and safest bet.
