Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio foresees Derek Carr playing vs. Chargers
The Oakland Raiders suffered their third consecutive loss on Sunday with Jack Del Rio’s squad convincingly falling to the Baltimore Ravens without star quarterback Derek Carr under center.
Fortunately, Del Rio appears confident that his Pro Bowl quarterback will be back under center in Week 6 when the team hosts the Los Angeles Chargers, via Levi Damien of Silver And Black Pride.
Jack Del Rio was not at all happy with what he saw from this team today. After the game, he said of Derek Carr being available next week when the Raiders take on the Chargers “Yeah, I have that feel.â€
Oakland is in danger of letting the season get away from them as they deal with injuries. Even before Carr went down with the back issue, the Raiders were struggling to put it together as their once-dominant offense sputtered and the defense continued to fail to contain opponents.
Carr returning is anything but a cure-all for the Raiders as they have their fair share of problems on both sides of the football. The Pro Bowler returning will improve the team’s confidence, but whether it results in a win over their division rivals remains to be seen.
The Raiders will host the Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs in consecutive weeks before heading back on the road. Oakland will hope to get back to .500 before leaving their home field, but it won’t be easy with the Chargers coming off a win and the Chiefs being arguably the best team in the league this season.
