Raiders QB Derek Carr considered questionable for Week 5 vs. Ravens
Along with losing their second straight game last weekend, the Oakland Raiders suffered what appeared to be a potentially devastating loss with franchise quarterback Derek Carr going down with a back injury.
The injury appeared severe enough to sideline the Pro Bowler for a considerable amount of time. The initial diagnosis had him missing as much as two to six weeks, but now he may be ready to go for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens with a questionable status, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Carr, who went down with a season-ending injury late last season, was clearly in a lot of pain after being spun around in the loss to the Broncos. Carr headed to the locker room and didn’t return with E.J. Manuel taking over under center and actually playing well before throwing an interception which sealed the deal for Denver.
The Raiders will hope to bounce back in Week 5 with or without Carr under center against the Ravens. Oakland may be able to get by Baltimore even if Carr is unable to go with Manuel seemingly a formidable backup, but it remains to be seen who will be under center and whether the team is able to push through for at least one more week.
Following Week 5’s matchup, the Raiders will continue their homestand against two divisional opponents with back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.
