Randall Cobb Staying in Green Bay on 4-Year Deal

Another day, another wide receiver off the market. The latest mouth-watering free agent to be put under wraps by his prior employer was Randall Cobb, who has now agreed to a four-year, $40 million deal with the Green Bay Packers.

The lockdown was a crucial one for the Pack, ensuring that the nucleus of Green Bay’s vaunted offense will stay together during the prime of each man’s career.

It’s hard to tell whether or not Cobb would have fielded offers more tempting than his current $10 million per season average had he tested the NFL market, but he appears to be a man who understands the value of loyalty, if not success.

Coming off a career-best year in terms of catches, receiving yards and touchdowns in 2014, Cobb has proven himself the renaissance man of the Packers’ offense. His ability to get open regularly and consistently move the chains with clutch third-down receptions keeps the unit churning.

The Packers will be undoubtedly relieved to have settled their biggest concern of this offseason with so little fuss.
