RB Aaron Jones Vows To Be a ‘Packer For Life’

The Green Bay Packers is a franchise on the cusp of transition. Among the players sweating their roster position is running back Aaron Jones.

Aaron Jones (25) enters his fourth year, a contract year, in a strong negotiation position. While his place is under threat from recent running back draftee AJ Dillon, Jones’ first three NFL years were stellar.

Last year, Aaron Jones led the league in touchdowns with 19. As well as that, he posted 1,558 yards from scrimmage and 4.6 yards per carry.

If Jones has his way, this won’t be his last year in Green Bay. In fact, he wants to be a ‘Packer for life.’

“Whether it’s my first year or my last year on a deal, I’m going to be just as motivated,” Jones said.

“It doesn’t change just because a contract is on the line for me. I mean, I’m going to continue to work and do everything in my power. I trust my agency and the Packers. With that, I would love to be a lifelong Packer. That’s my take on that.”

“I’m really not looking at the market, I’m just focused on myself,” Jones said.

“I feel like I can play at a really high level and elite level for a very long time, so I’m just going to do what I can and hopefully that leads to me being a Packer for life. That’s my goal.”

Another man pondering his Packers futures is fellow Aaron, quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers’ discontent has been bubbling away under the surface in Tampa for a while. He is reported to be not best pleased with the acquisition of Jordan Love in this years’ draft. Coach Matt LaFleur’s selections early next season will be telling of the immediate future of the franchise.
