Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale hospitalized with stomach ailment
As the Boston Red Sox were taking on the Houston Astros in Game 2 of the ALCS, the club announced that ace Chris Sale was admitted to the hospital.
#RedSox LHP Chris Sale reported a stomach illness today and was admitted to MGH for observation this afternoon. He will be kept overnight for evaluation and any further updates will be released when available.

Assuming this is fairly minor ailment, this shouldn’t make much of a difference on the field. Having thrown on Saturday, Sale was unlikely to be available until Thursday’s Game 5 or Wednesday’s Game 4 at the absolute earliest.

If the issue goes beyond that, it becomes a big issue for both Sale and his team.
Sale took a no-decision on Saturday. He allowed only one hit and struck out five. However, he walked four and was limited to only four innings as the Red Sox were defeated 7-2.
