Rose Return Lifts Bulls In Future Odds

Rumors were abound over the last few days that Derrick Rose would return to the Chicago Bulls lineup tonight against the Orlando Magic. Those rumors got somewhat confirmed when it was revealed today that Rose was listed as “questionable” against the Magic. NBA.com is now reporting that Rose will play tonight against the Magic.

With Rose’s return inevitable, the Bulls got a big bump in the future odds with all the rumbling over the weekend and throughout the beginning of the week. They have rose to 14/1, the fifth best odds in the NBA at a championship. They have not been that high in the odds since Rose went down with an injury in February.

The Bulls are also huge favorites over the Magic tonight with Rose set to return. They are -8-point favorites versus Orlando, with a total set at 193 points.

Other big leaps forward over the last few weeks saw the Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs move up in their future odds. The Spurs have been in beast mode late in the stretch. They have their last eight games. The Hawks, meanwhile, have been proving all season long that the NBA superstar model of building a team is not necessary to win games. The Hawks (12/1) have the fourth best odds, while the Spurs have the fourth best (4/1).

The top of the futures odds have saw a shakeup as well since the last time we checked in with them. The team with the best record in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors, finally overtook the Cleveland Cavilers atop the odds. The Warriors are 19/10 to win it all this year. The Cavs sit behind them at 21/10.

The Oklahoma City Thunder odds plummeted as they fell out of the eighth seed this week. The Thunder has been struggling since it was announced Kevin Durant would be out for the season.
