Saturday NHL Action Preview
With the Stanley Cup Playoffs rapidly approaching, each hockey game matters a little bit more than the last. Today there is a lot of hockey games to sift through. Here are the marquee hockey games for Saturday.
New York Rangers VS Montreal Canadiens
This is the last game in a three game series between these two old school teams. The Candiens have won the first two games comfortable. However, the Rangers will be playing with their backs against the wall. New York is barley clinging onto a playoff spot with the New York Islanders only a game behind them. The Rangers will need every win they can get to put some space between themselves and the Islanders as they battle for a post season.
Montreal is the favorite to win this game with a -1.5 point spread. To bet on the Candiens the money line is -155. To bet on the Rangers the money line is at +135.
Boston Bruins VS Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers are struggling going 2-6-2 on their last ten games. With only 15 games left, it appears the Flyers may be on a road that does not lead to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If that happens it will be the first time the Flyers have missed the playoff in five years. Also, the Bruins winning their last encounter earlier this season 3-0 has to have the Flyers felling nervous.  If, however, the Boston Bruins were vulnerable it is now. Their 5-4-1 record on their last ten is not all that impressive. The Bruins had a a 3-0 victory the last time these two teams met.
The Flyers are racing for first place in the Northeast Division with Montreal Canadiens, so every win and point matters for them to put some distance between these two teams.
Bruins are Favorited with a -1.5 points spread. To bet on Boston the money line is at -150. +130 is the money line to bet on the Flyers.
Vancouver Canucks VS Edmonton Oilers
The Canucks are rolling with a six game winning streak and would love to further enforce their dominance of the Northwest Division by defeating the Oilers. Meanwhile, the Oilers have won back t0 back games as they try to stay in the playoff picture.
The Bruins are the favorites in this game with they typical 1.5 point spread. To bet on the Bruins the money line is set at -145. To bet on the Oilers it is +125.
