Spurs Take Game 1 of Western Conference Finals
The odds were with them with a -4.5 point spread and they dominated the Memphis Grizzlies by double digits. The San Antonio Spurs went over the Grizzlies in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals 105-83.
Tony Parker scored 20 points and had nine assists in only 33 minutes of play.  San Antonio’s defense were able to hold Zach Randolph had an all time low while playing in the playoffs. He went 1 for 8 and only had two points in 28 minutes. Before this game he was averaging 20 points a game and averaging over 50 percent shooting. The Grizzlies are now 0-3 in Game 1 in the playoffs.
“It was just one of them nights,” Randolph said. “I’ve been double-teamed the whole season. A lot of my shots were off. I didn’t get as good a look as I wanted to. It was just the rhythm of the game. I’ve got to be better, as I told my teammates. I’ve got to be better for them.”
The Spurs simply out played the Grizzlies in ever aspect of the game. They even outscored Memphis from the 3-point line 42-15
The Spurs seemed to have the game in hand by the third quarter where they would lead by 17 points at the halfway mark of the quarter. Memphis how ever knocked down 10 straight points to catch back up. The Spurs then responded with an 11-1 run to finish up the third. The Grizzlies were only able to get within 14 points during the fourth quarter.
“Zach and Marc are a heck of a combination,” Gregg Popovich, Spurs coach, said. “Everything they do is real difficult to stick with, and you’ve got to have a mindset to do it on every down. I thought we did the best job we could do.”
