Terrelle Pryor Courting Patriots, Steelers

Terrelle Pryor isn’t giving up hope of returning to NFL prominence in time for the 2020 season, despite a depressed market.

The veteran quarterback turned wide receiver’s struggles began just as he broke out as a WR for Cleveland in 2016.

Terrelle Pryor caught 14 passes for 235 yards and two TDs during a six game spell with the New York Jets in 2018. Afterwards, he played for the Bills twice, making one catch.

His injury problems combined with a lethargic WR market and the Covid-19 pandemic mean that he will be lucky to find a team. However, there are some big teams interested in him, with his hometown Pittsburgh a possible destination.

“There have been conversations with a couple — five teams,” Terrell Pryor said.

“(My reps) spoke to the Patriots last week, I believe. A lot of the teams are not really dealing with bringing in players because of the COVID situation.”

As well as his fitness struggles, Pryor was also hospitalized in November. He was charged with simple assault for the incident in which he sustained a stab wound.

Despite this, he believes that he can still dominate in the NFL.

“Those two are very intriguing,” Pryor said.

“Especially Cam. I’ve been a big fan of him throughout the years … And, obviously, Big Ben, that’s my hometown of Pittsburgh, so that’s just two teams that I really want to play for.”

“I can still play. And, I can still make plays and dominate,” Pryor said.

“I know that. It’s just, I’ve got to have that in my mind. They’ve got to see that I’m still healthy. That’s the only thing that really held me back, even two years ago with the Jets.”
