Texans sign former Cardinal Tyrann Mathieu
It didn’t take long for former Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu to find a new job. Released by Arizona earlier in the week, the former All-Pro has reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans.

Arizona decided to release Mathieu on Wednesday when the two sides couldn’t come together on a restructured contract. The move saved $11 million against the cap, which was used to sign veteran quarterback Sam Bradford.
Mathieu, 25, is among the most electric defensive backs in the game. His presence in Arizona’s secondary will be a boon for a defense that already includes stars J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.

This comes as Watt himself recruited Honey Badger to Houston on Twitter earlier in the week.
In five seasons with the Cardinals, Mathieu recorded 305 tackles, 41 passes defended 11 interceptions and four forced fumbles. He earned both Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods with the team back in 2015.
