The Three Best Teams in the NBA Eastern Conference
It is one thing to look at win/loss records to determine who the best teams in the NBA are. However, a number of other factors come into play including odds to win the championship and how the teams are currently playing.
3. New York Knicks
I was very excited about the New York Knicks a month or so ago. However, in their last ten games we have seen the inconsistency and problems that this team has rise up. They are 4-6 on their last ten games and I came very close to ranking the Brooklyn Mets, who are 8-2 on their last ten and 8-3 in their division. I only ranked the Knicks above them, because of the Mets losing road record.
The Knicks have the best odds at winning the NBA Championship out of any other team in the Eastern Conference according to Bovada at 12/1. So this also gives them a heads up over other teams close to making this list like the Indiana Pacers and the Mets
2. Chicago Bulls
The Bulls are red hot right now. They are 7-3 on their last ten games and have won their last two contests. Overall, the Bulls lag behind the Pacers by a couple of wins to lead their division, but you have to keep in mind that Chicago is playing without Derrick Rose.
Rose is penciled in for a return after the All-Star break. When he does return the Bulls will become one of the best teams in the NBA period. They will become a team that may very well challenge the Miami Heat in the Easter Conference Finals.
They have 18/1 odds of winning the NBA Championship.
1. Miami Heat
What other team in the Eastern Conference would be number one other than the defending NBA Champions?
The Miami Heat maybe 5-5 on their last ten and may have been struggling on the road with a 9-9 record, but the Heat have the best win-loss record in the NBA and they sit atop the list of teams who have the best odds of winning an NBA Championship. James recently became the youngest player to surpass 20,000 career points. With all the talent on this team you simply cannot ever drop them back out of the number one team in the Eastern Conference.
