Thunder @ Suns Preview: Durant Looks To Keep Scoring
There is a lot to be excited about when looking at the battle between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Phoenix Suns.
This is a game between a No. 1 division teams and a team that looks like it may go on its first playoff run in a long time.
The Suns find themselves in a position similar to go to the playoffs, something they have not done in years. They are a young team that most sports pundits think are not quite ready to hang with the best. The Suns, like the Thunder did by going all the way to the NBA Championship two years ago, want to prove them wrong.
The Thunder may have a bit of a personal vendetta against Suns. The Thunder suffered a shocking loss to Phoenix early in the season and want nothing more than to avenge that mark in the L column.
The Thunder will now be looking to return the favor.
The Suns will have some momentum coming into this game. They defeated New Orleans Pelicans 107-100 on Wednesday.
The Thunder will need to slow the Suns current roll if they want to win tonight.
If the Thunder can make it past the Suns they will sweep a three game road trip that saw them defeat the Cleveland Cavs and the Chicago Bulls.
Kevin Durant has been particularly potent for the Thunder. He is averaging a career-high 31.9 points a game. That average is good enough to lead the NBA in scoring. Durant has scored at least 25 points in 33 consecutive outings. He has broken Michael Jordan’s 40-game streak.
The Thunder are the -3.5 point favorites to win this game. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET and you can watch it with NBA Live Play.
