Viking Listed As Slight Favorites Over 49ers On MNF

While we are still recovering from yesterday’s wild day in football, lest not forget we have two more games to close Week 1 as the Minnesota Vikings find themselves as rare road favorites against the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Atlanta Falcons as the favorites.

The Vikings will have Adrian Peterson back in the lineup, which has helped push them to two-point favorites over the 49ers. Teddy Bridgewater will also be looking to continue to show he is the guy to lead the Vikings into the future. He is always a threat to go deep. The Vikings are 5-1 against the spread going back to the preseason and last season.

Meanwhile, the 49ers will be are expected to look like the same offensive team they were last season despite a coaching change. The ‘niners’ run-first offense is tough to defend, though Frank Gore is now absent from the lineup.

The total for the game is set at 41.5 points. The UNDER is 12-4 in the last ten years when the Vikings are on the road as favorites. The total also trends toward the UNDER for San Francisco. They are 10-5 on the UNDER as home underdogs of 3.5 points or less since 2000.

This is a late night game with kick off scheduled for around 10:30 p.m. ET.

Before that game the Eagles and Falcons will collide at around 7 p.m. ET. The Hawks are 3-point underdogs at home in that game.

The books are expecting a high-scoring affair for this one with the total set at 55.5 points.
