Vikings star Adam Thielen is considered questionable vs. 49ers

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off their biggest win of the season. Their confidence is high, having taken down superstar quarterback Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Minnesota was able to pull off the upset and turn a lot of heads around the NFL. However, they could be in trouble this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers.

According to Courtney Cornin of ESPN, the Vikings could be without star wide receiver Adam Thielen against the 49ers who is considered questionable as of Thursday.

Adam Thielen is listed as questionable for the Minnesota Vikings’ divisional playoff game in San Francisco one day after getting stitches on his left ankle following an injury at practice.

Thielen has struggled with injuries all season long. As a result, this recent ankle issue has come at the wrong time. Minnesota’s season is on the line against a formidable opponent. Thielen talked about his ankle injury and his mindset moving forward, via ESPN.

“It is what it is,” Thielen said. “At that point, you’re just trying to figure out how to get out there on Saturday. That’s my mindset. Do whatever it takes to get out there Saturday and help this team win.”

Without Thielen downfield, quarterback Kirk Cousins will be without one of his favorite targets in the passing game and it will take off the pressure on the very good defense of the 49ers. Although Minnesota is very much capable of pulling off a second straight upset in the playoffs, Thielen’s absence could prove costly for a team trying to go the distance.
