With NBA free agency starting to calm down with all the big-name players already off the board, the next move for some teams is clearing more cap space or addressing needs by making trades this summer. One major trade is already in the works with Roy Hibbert set to be dealt by the Indiana Pacers to the Los Angeles Lakers, but it doesn’t stop there with the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors also ready to make a move.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, David Lee is headed to the Boston Celtics:

Sources told ESPN.com that the Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Lee to the Celtics for veteran swingman Gerald Wallace.

The Celtics were intent on making some big moves during the NBA offseason with the team armed with cap space and multiple draft picks. Although some solid moves were made, Boston struck out in terms of landing a big-name free agent.

Fortunately, the team has upgraded their roster with the addition of veteran power forward David Lee. It appears to be a solid move for both teams with the Warriors also getting a valuable addition in Wallace.

Boston added four rookies in the NBA Draft with the selections of Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter, Jordan Mickey and Marcus Thornton. The Celtics also agreed to terms with Jae Crowder, Jonas Jerebko and Amir Johnson to go along with adding Lee into the mix.

Although the Celtics probably won’t be in title contention anytime soon, general manager Danny Ainge and company have put together a decent young core with a few veterans that could propel them into the playoffs once again next season.
