Warriors Win Ninth Straight On the Road

Depleted rosters didn’t affect the offensive output in the Rockets VS Warriors match on Thursday night. The Golden State Warriors triumphed 124 – 114 over the Houston Rockets in a night of attacking prowess.

Golden State was without Kevin Durant, who has had a transformative effect on the Warriors since joining them. Houston was without James Harden. With these injuries, the game was missing two of the NBA’s biggest stars. However, other players stepped up.

The match was close throughout. The Warriors pulled away in the 4th quarter, thanks to a 3 pointer from Stephen Curry with 3 minutes left.

Stephen Curry finished the game with 29 points. He also made 9 rebounds, 5 assists and one steal. Curry was closely followed by Klay Thompson, who scored 28. Draymond Green added 17, including a triple double. He also made 10 assists and 14 rebounds. Green is now the Golden State franchise leader in triple doubles. He now has 21, moving past Tom Gola Thursday night with his second of the season.

For Houston, Eric Gordon scored 30 points. Gerald Green came off the bench to score 29. His 8 3 pointers were equal to his career best.

It was the Warriors 9th straight road wins. Their record for road wins is the best in the NBA with 16 for the season. Golden State is now 31 – 8 overall for the season. The Rockets aren’t far behind, at 27 – 10. However, their coach Mike D’Antoni was disappointed with their performance on the night.

“We’ve got to get better as a team. We’re just not quite there defensively, communication, all the stuff we can control we’re not doing.” he said.

“(Durant’s absence) doesn’t affect anything. They’ll do what they do,” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said afterward. “They’re still the world champions without him.”
