Washington Visits Shorthanded Dallas on Thursday Night Football

Week 13 of the NFL regular season opens with an NFC East showdown when the Washington Redskins visit the Dallas Cowboys. The current line has Washington favored by 2 points with the over/under point total on 45.5.

Entering this game, Washington on the season is 5-6 straight up and against the spread. On the road, the Redskins are 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS. Dallas on the season is 5-6 SU and ATS. At home, the Cowboys are 2-4 SU and ATS.

Dallas is far different from the team that beat Washington last month 33-19. Ezekiel Elliott, who rushed for 150 yards in that game with two touchdowns is now serving a six-game suspension. Dallas has scored just a combined 22 points during its current three-game losing streak.

Washington scored 30 points in two straight games, but lost both, before beating the New York Giants 20-10 on Thanksgiving. Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins is second in the NFL in yards passing with 3,038 and threw for two touchdowns against the Giants.

Cousins has 625 passing yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions in its past two games against Dallas.

Trent Williams the starting left tackle for Washington is expected to return after missing one game, while Jordan Reed the Redskins starting tight end is not expected to play due to an injured hamstring that has kept him sidelined four straight games.

Samaje Perine, Washington’s rookie running back has rushed for 217 yards combined over his last two games.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott and the passing game for the Cowboys has been hit hard without Elliott in the backfield and the threat of running the ball as teams concentrate on stopping the Cowboys passing game.

Prescott has thrown five interceptions over his past two games which is one more than he threw all of last season during his rookie year.

Against the Spread

Dallas wide receiver Dez Bryant has not eclipsed 40 receiving yards in two of the last three games.

Dallas has not scored 10 points in three consecutive games for the first time in the history of the franchise.

Washington is 12-4 ATS in its last 16 games on the road.

Dallas is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games played at home.

Prediction: In a word Redskins. Dallas just does not have the offense to stay close to any opponent.
