Where Will LeBron James End Up Next Season?

Another season of the NBA is now in the books with the Golden State Warriors winning their third NBA title in the last four seasons. Each of the last four seasons the NBA Finals have featured the Warriors against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but that likely will change next season.

With James about to become an unrestricted free agent a great deal of worry has settled upon Cleveland and huge anticipation in every other NBA city. The odds are very high James will leave the Cavaliers.

Shortly after James and the Cavs were swept in four games by the Warriors for the title, LeBron said he was not sure about where he would play next season.

Odd makers have their own thoughts as do every basketball pundit, fan or acquaintance of the game.

James fought to the very end carrying his team during an impressive run in the postseason and proved that at the age of 33 he is still one of the best players in the NBA today and off all time.

Then where will he play next season? One source has said that James will only entertain free-agent offers by Cavaliers, Rockets, Lakers and 76ers.

The favorites to land James are the Los Angeles Lakers at +200. Odds makers have listed the Rockets as the second most likely place James will play at +220 followed by the 76ers at +350, Cavaliers +350 and Boston +1000 to round out the top five.

Beyond the first five are the Spurs at +1200, Warriors +2000, Clippers +2000 and the Heat at +3300.

When James returned to play for the Cavaliers in 2014 following two NBA titles with the Heat, it was thought he would end up remaining with the team to finish his NBA career. However, at this point it looks unlikely that will happen.

The Lakers have started to build a team of young stars, but need a guiding light and James could give that to them and give himself another opportunity to win a title.

However, the 76ers likely represent the best opportunity for James to win a title in short order as they have three stars in Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz and a strong supporting group led by J.J. Redick and Dario Saric.
