Wildcard Weekend Ends With Cowboys Versus Lions

Wildcard weekend wraps up with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Detroit Lions at 4:40 p.m. ET on FOX.

This is the first playoff game in five years the Cowboys have hosted after ending their regular season hot. It will be tasked to the Lions to slow the Cowboys roll so they can keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Cowboys are big favorite in this one. They have a money line set at -7.5. However, we have already seen the Baltimore Ravens upset the Pittsburgh Steelers so anything can happen.

The Cowboys have been very kind to bettors this season. They are 10-6 against the spread and are one of ten football teams to have covered 60 percent or more this season. The Cowboys are 2-1 against playoff caliber teams. The loss should have an ascetics next to it, though, as Tony Romo was out of the lineup for that game.

The Cowboys battled the Washington Redskins on the road in their last outing. The Cowboys covered the 6.5-point spread as favorites in that game and hit the OVER.

The Lions have not been as nice to those betting on them. They are the only playoff team that have a losing record in terms of the point spread. They are 7-9 against the spread. The Lions have also struggled as big underdogs all throughout the season. They are 0-2 straight up when the point spread is 6.5 points or more this season. Those games were loses to the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, respectively. The Lions are 1-4 against playoff teams this seasons.

The Lions do have some good news. Ndamukong Suh, defensive tackle and key player, is back after a suspension for stepping on Aaron Rodgers.

The Lions lost to the Packers on the road, 30-20, in their last outing. The Lions failed to cover an 8-point spread as underdogs in that game and hit the OVER.

The total for this game is set at 49 points. The UNDER has hit in 11-5 of Lions games. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Dallas’s last 7 games.
