LeBron James Has Given ‘Zero Indication’ He’ll Return To Heat
Superstar LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers may be leaning toward leaving the team that drafted him back in 2003. Despite leading the Cavs to its only title in franchise history, LeBron may be looking to move on with talk of him potentially considering the Los Angeles Lakers next summer when he can become a free agent.
However, a few recent Instagram posts from the three-time NBA champion suggest he’s in Miami and reminiscing on his time with the Heat. Unfortunately for fans of the team, a return to South Beach doesn’t seem to be on the horizon, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:
Again, the Heat has been given zero indication that James – a free agent next summer – would have interest in coming back and isn’t expecting that.
Of course, anything can change from now until when LeBron will have to make another decision in free agency next July. The Lakers loom large as a potential destination, but the Heat could emerge as a suitor once again along with the possibility of simply staying in Cleveland.
At this point, the Cavs seem to be a sinking ship in the Eastern Conference. Many anticipate Cleveland to remain the best team in the conference next season and the favorite to make it back to the NBA Finals, but a lot has changed with general manager David Griffin leaving the team, and few moves made to improve the roster.
Only time will tell if LeBron ultimately decides to leave Cleveland and where he might end up if he does so. Miami, however, appears not to be on his short list.
