LeBron James Bailed Out By Davis in 1st Lakers Playoff Win Since 2012
LeBron James was brought into L.A to spur the Lakers onto their first NBA title in ten years. In a frustrating, injury-hit year, he couldn’t take them to their first postseason in six years.
It was clear; the great LeBron James needed help and he even identified the perfect partner. Enter Anthony Davis.
This year, the Lakers had a championship season on the back of LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ partnership. However, patchy form in the NBA bubble cast into doubt their status as favorites to reach the finals.
Anthony Davis proved that he was the right man to compliment James in Thursday’s Game 2 win over the Blazers.

LeBron himself had his worst-ever playoff win performance. His 10 points were the fewest he’s ever scored in a postseason win.
Thankfully for the Lakers, it was Anthony Davis to the rescue as they tied the series 1 – 1.
Davis led all scorers with 31 points, as well as 11 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in 29 minutes.
“I’ve had some great teammates in my career,” James said.Â
“AD is one of those unicorns and he does things that some of my other great teammates are not capable of doing.”
The Lakers needed a unicorn, too. Thursday’s victory over Portland was their first playoff win since 2012. It will take 15 more in the bubble for them to win the championship again. Coach Frank Vogel says that they’re on the right track.

“We’re competing at a very high level,” Vogel said.
“The care factor on the defensive side of the ball is where it should be for playoffs, to win in the playoffs. We have tremendous, tremendous respect for the offensive firepower of the basketball team that we’re playing.”
