LeBron James Breaks Kobe Bryant’s Triple Double Record
Every time it looks like LeBron James is slowing down, he produces a performance that dispels any doubt over him.
On Sunday, LeBron James broke yet another record with a 30-point triple-double in a 106-94 win over the Orlando Magic.
He surpassed Lakers legend Kobe Bryant as the oldest player in NBA history to have a 30 point triple double. Bryant was 36 years, 99 days old when he posted a triple double in 2014. LeBron James was 36 years, 346 days old against the Magic.
James has endured a frustrating start to the season, missing 10 of the Lakers first 16 games. However, the statistics show that his enduring quality has begun to shine through yet again.

Over his first eight games, LeBron averaged 22.8 points on 49% shooting with 5.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists. Over his last eight, he’s averaged 29.8 points on 52% shooting, 7.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists.
According to LeBron, the magic formula was getting enough sleep before the game. “I slept last night from 12 [a.m.] to 8 [a.m.], I got up, ate breakfast and went back to sleep from 8:30 [a.m.] to 12:30 [p.m.],” James said.
Far from slowing down, he is actually playing more often this season than any other during his time as a Laker. He is averaging 36.8 minutes per game this year compared to 33.4 minutes last season.

“Who me? How do I continue how I’m playing? Been doing it for 19 years,” he said. “Just do what I’ve been doing. I feel like I’m getting better and better each and every day. I’m getting healthier and healthier.
“That’s just my mindset. Don’t get involved in how many minutes I played, how many days off,” James said. “I don’t confine to that. I think you think negative thoughts or negative energy, it just creeps into your mind. So, I’m as young as I’ve ever been.”
