Tyreek Hill wants more ‘valuable reps’ with Tua Tagovailoa
The Miami Dolphins eased by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16, but it featured three uncharacteristic dropped balls from star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
The All-Pro failed to corral what would have been a pair of touchdown catches, which he chalked up his shortcomings to be a lack of reps with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
“I feel like, at the end of the day, I need those valuable reps with Tua,” Hill said via ESPN. “Those vet rest days are starting to show. I completely blame myself for not getting my head around and not seeing the ball because, if I see a ball, we’re talking cross-court, 70-yard touchdown. But those Wednesday reps are definitely showing.
“As a leader, I’ve just got to be able to bite the bullet sometime and practice and get those valuable reps with QB1 because, if we’re able to stay on the field on third down, who knows what could happen.”
One factor may be the wrist injury that Hill has been dealing with for much of the season. It forced him to miss Wednesday practice in two out of the past four weeks while he’s been listed as limited or worse for at least one practice in each week since Week 7.

Tagovailoa’s absence for four games this season has played a part, but Hill’s production is noticeably lower than his standard. He has notched 70 catches for 834 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Hill is in jeopardy of falling short of 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since the 2019 season.
