Dak Prescott wants to ‘win a championship’ with the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are heading into a season of uncertainty, as they’ll have to contend with the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and the up-and-coming Washington Commanders in the NFC East.

Along with facing stiff competition in their division, the Cowboys still have veteran quarterback Dak Prescott leading the charge under center and a superstar linebacker, Micah Parsons, seeking to secure his long-term future.

Although there have been a lot of questions about Prescott’s future, he made one thing clear this week: he wants to win a Super Bowl title with the Cowboys, via ESPN.

“Yeah, I want to win a championship,” Prescott said when the Cowboys concluded their offseason program Thursday. “The legacy, the things, whatever comes after I finish playing will take care of itself. I want to win a championship. Be damned if it’s just for my legacy, or if it’s for this team, for my personal being, for my sanity. Yeah, the legacy will take care of itself. I have to stay where my feet are.”

New Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer talked about having Prescott under center moving forward and what it means for Dallas.

“We just talk about what it takes to win, work ethic, the sacrifice you have to make to win,” Schottenheimer said. “That’s relevant in any field you’re in. … This is one of the hardest working players I’ve ever been around, Dak.”

Only time will tell if everything will come together in Dallas with Prescott leading the way, but that’s clearly the plan heading into the 2025 campaign.
