2 Big Games Set In AL
There are two big games scheduled for this evening in the MLB American League. Here is a brief preview of both games:
Orioles Vs. Red Sox
Division rivals the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox will enter a three-game series this evening and both teams will be sending struggling pitchers to the mound.
Both Bud Norris (Orioles) and Jake Peavy (Red Sox) will be looking to redeem themselves and to get each of their respective teams back on track after a pair of ugly series.
Norris allowed 13 runs on 17 hits in his last outing. Meanwhile, Peavy has had poor outings the last five times he has taken the mound. He has given up at least five earned runs in five starts and at least eight hits.
The Orioles do have their offense going for them, which has been hot for about a week now. They put up an 11-run performance against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday but are still short of first place in the division.
The Red Sox sit in third and have lost 15 of their last 23. With mid-season fast approaching, they are beginning to feel the panic of needing to turn the ship around.
The game starts at 8 p.m. ET. Baltimore are the slight favorites to win this one according to the sportsbooks with a –106 moneyline compared to Boston’s –104.
Angels Vs. Okaland
The Angels will be looking to regain some ground against the No. 1 team in the division tonight when they take on the As.
Garrett Richard will start for the Angels. Richards had is worst start of the season in an outing against Oakland back on May 30. He recorded just two outs while allowing fiave earned runs. In his last outing, however Richards pitched eight shutout innings against the Houston Astros.
Jesse Chavez will pitch for the As. Chavez got off to an incredible start to the season but has since seen his ERA climb to 3.00. He gave up four runs over six inning against the New York Yankees in his last outing.
The game starts at 10:05 p.m. The Angels are the slight favorites to win this one with a –108 moneyline.
