AL West Betting Action: July 29, 2013

The Angels play the Rangers and the Blue Jays travel to the Bay Area to take on the Oakland A’s in today’s AL West action. Oakland is the hottest team in the division right now after winning three straight games against the Angels over the weekend. They’re no 19 games over .500 and six full games ahead of the Texas Rangers in the divisional standing.

“That was big,” Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. “We’ve had some guys struggling, and then someone else shows up … and then someone else shows up. We still have some guys struggling, but we manage to either get just enough or keep adding on like today.”

Oakland now gets three of its best pitchers in A.J. Griffin, Bartolo Colon and Dan Strailey taking the mound against the Blue Jays.
