Anthony Davis Set for Lakers Trade Before Deadline
With Thursday’s NBA trade deadline looming, New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis looks set to get his wish.
Anthony Davis requested a trade away from the Pelicans last week. He was fined $50,000 by the NBA for public comments to that effect made by his agent, Rich Paul.
Reportedly, Anthony Davis named four preferred destinations including the Lakers, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Of those teams, the Lakers are said to be most interested having made several attempts to sign him already.
According to the Express, the Lakers have made five attempts at a deal for Davis, with no response from New Orleans.

Now, Fox Sport’ Colin Cowherd says that Davis will be traded to the Lakers ‘very soon’.
The Lakers are offering Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, Brandon Ingram and Lance Stephenson. They will also send two first-round picks in return for Davis and Solomon Hill. Hill is a crucial part of the deal, as his departure would provide salary cap relief for the Pelicans.
A deal may be hard to push through, but at least the Lakers don’t have any competition for Davis. It was thought that he might wind up at the Celtics. However, his father put a block on that move as he does not want his son to play for Boston.
They have until Thursday to get the deal done, and if they do, they risk a huge amount. Six players and two first-round draft picks is no small sacrifice.

However, Colin Cowherd expressed his confidence that the trade will work out on Twitter.
“Very rarely in any business, do you regret, years later, acquiring something elite,†he said.
“Generally you regret going cheap and settling.
