Bears head coach John Fox hints at potential change at QB
The Chicago Bears have a problem at the quarterback position. Mike Glennon simply isn’t cutting it leading many to believe a change could be made with rookie Mitchell Trubisky potentially taking over in the near future.
Following an ugly loss to the division rival Green Bay Packers, head coach John Fox alluded to the team shaking things up. Fox claims the team will be evaluating everything with the quarterback depth chart being a part of the evaluation, via Curtis Crabtree of Pro Football Talk.
“We need to make a lot of changes,†Fox said when asked if he was considering a swap of quarterbacks. “We’ll evaluate everything. We’ve got a lot of work to do before we line up against Minnesota Monday night and we’re going to look at everything.â€
The current starter, Glennon, talked his performance on Thursday Night Football against the Packers in which he committed four turnovers. Glennon threw two interceptions and fumbled twice, via Crabtree.
“The number one thing we obviously have to fix is the turnovers,†Glennon said. “I’m not giving our team a chance when you turn the ball over like that.â€
Outside of a surprising win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3, the Bears have lost three out of their last four games. All signs point to a long and disappointing season for Chicago as they struggle to keep up with the competition in the NFC let alone the competition within the NFC North.
In Week 5, the Bears will have another tough challenge going up against another division rival in the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota’s defense will pose some problems for Glennon or Trubisky, but it remains to be seen which player it will be under center against the Vikings.
