Bruce Arians hires 2 women as full-time assistant coaches
Bruce Arians has come out of a brief retirement in order to coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bruce Arians has changed the environment in Tampa. He also made the promise of hiring a full-time female coach to his staff.

The Buccaneers are now the first NFL team with two female coaches on staff.

And he clearly wasn’t just paying lip service to the idea. This week he announced the hiring of Maral Javadifar and Lori locust as full-time assistants.

Making such a move is nothing new for Arians. Back in the 2015 preseason as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Arians hired Jen Welter to be an intern.
Arians revealed on Fox Sports 910 on Wednesday night that he has hired two female coaches. One will serve as an assistant defensive line coach, while the other has been hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
The NFL has been more open to hiring women for coaching positions. Katie Sowers is entering her third season as the San Francisco 49ers full-time offensive assistant, after previously serving as an intern with Kyle Shanahan during his time with the Atlanta Falcons.
The times they are changing in the NFL, which is resulting in a better and more inclusive league.
