Not that this is a huge surprise, but Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has been ruled out for Sunday’s Divisional Round game against the New Orleans Saints.

Carson Wentz, of course, has been out since early December with a fracture in his back. The Eagles haven’t placed him on injured reserve. However, it’s been widely reported he isn’t likely to play at all while his back heals. The problem is that’s a process that will take months.

The outstanding play of Nick Foles certainly helps Philly keep Carson Wentz on the bench. He’s led the Eagles to four straight wins, helping propel them into the playoffs with a thrilling comeback win over the Houston Texans, and of course the come-from-behind victory last weekend against the Chicago Bears.
The Eagles will be hard pressed to beat the Saints this Sunday in New Orleans, but Foles certainly gives them an opportunity to pull off the huge upset.
