Delanie Walker Vindicated by Browns Win

In the build up to the NFL season opener, Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker was resentful of the Browns.

Clearly irked by the publicity the Cleveland Browns were receiving, Delanie Walker urged his team to ignore the noise.

“The Tennessee Titans have always been under the radar. What’s new?” Walker said.

“So I expect them to talk about the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland this, Cleveland that. We’re going to go in there and play football. As a group, we’ve just got to handle the noise and play our game.”

Delanie Walker brought every ounce of that resentment into Tennessee’s 43 – 13 win over the Browns on Sunday. Following his two TD pass catch performance, Walker stuck the knife even further into Cleveland.

“It’s funny, man. It’s so funny, like you can doubt someone and you ain’t even played the game yet,” Walker said.

“But that’s what we do in this league. We hype teams, we hype ’em and that’s the norm.”

“We didn’t circle this game. This is just another game. We ain’t even worried about it. I’m gonna tell you again, man. They were who we thought they were. Y’all can crown ’em if you want. Crown ’em. Still got to play football.”

He then took his chance to scoff at all of the preseason hype surrounding the Cleveland Browns.

“Front-runners, that’s all I’mma say.”

All in all, it was a bad day for the Browns, who had three turnovers, all of which were on Baker Mayfield. As well as that, they committed 18 penalties for 182 yards.

They did fight back during the game, coming to within two points of the Titans in the third quarter. However, Tennessee went on a 28 – 0 run to quash any hopes of a comeback.
