Derek Jeter Is Single Again!

It seems that aging New York Yankees shortstop, and national treasure, Derek Jeter is single again. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Jeter has broken up with sexy Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Hannah Davis, his girlfriend of just over a year.

The couple were rumored to have been engaged in August 2013, but it’s clear now that was nothing more than a rumor. And considering they’ve been broken up for “months,” it’s hard to imagine there was even a kernel of truth to it.

Apparently The Jeet has a problem with the ladies in his life having a rising star. In the past he dated Mariah Carey, Jordana Brewster, Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima, Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly right before their respective careers took off.

Granted, most of their respective careers almost immediately came crashing back to Earth, but that doesn’t disprove the pattern. Davis is now one of the faces of Ralph Lauren, Victoria’s Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, L’Wren Scott and was previously quite memorable as the DirecTV genie.

Said Page Six:

On source told us: “Derek likes to keep his relationships quiet. In the past, when his girlfriends become famous and start doing sexy shoots, that’s when they break up. Exactly the same thing happened with Minka and Vanessa Minnillo.”

Another source said: “Derek and Hannah broke up a few months ago. She wasn’t at his Celebrity Golf Classic last month. He is in Tampa and is completely focused on being fit and ready for the upcoming baseball season.”

The Post article also pointed out that Jeter stayed home at his palace in Tampa for the Super Bowl, while Davis was spotted at several public events, including the Celebrity Beach Bowl and the Saturday night performance by Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Adding, “Hannah looked sensational” and “she was with friends, she definitely wasn’t with a date.” Which reminds me: Hannah Davis is single too! A little something for the fellas, as well as something for the ladies.
