Early Odds And Trends For NFC Championship Game

Book it how ever you want: Pocket Passer Versus Duel Threat, Force Versus Acceleration, Defense Versus Offense. We have seen the NFC Championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahwks called many different things in the last week.

Regardless of how you want to bill it, this is going to be a big game with a lot money riding on it so let’s take a look at the line and some of the trends leading into this contest.

The Seahawks are coming into this game as 7.5 favorites versus the Packers, meaning less than a touchdown is what oddsmakers  are predicting will separate these two teams.

In their last outing, the Seahawks easily dispatched the Carolina Panthers with a 31-17 win. The Seahawks earned a push in that game as they were 14-point favorites, not doing bettors any favors.

The Packers were similar disheartening in their last game for bettors. They beat the Dallas Cowboys26-21 but failed to cover a -5.5 point spread as favorites.

Green Bay will be away from home, but they are 4-2 straight up when on the road. However, the Seahawks are superb at home. They are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five home games.

Looking at Green Bay’s recent trends, they are 13-4 straight up this season. They are 9-7-1 against the spread. They have won three straight games and are 8-1 straight up in their last nine games.

The Seahawks have been kinder to bettors than the Packers. Seattle is 13-4 straight up this season and 10-6-1 against the spread. They are 6-0-1 in their last seven games aginst the spread and have won all seven of those games.

The total is set at 47 points. In the Seahawks-versus-Panthers game the OVER cashed in. In the Packers-versus-Cowboys game the UNDER went to the payout window.

The Packers traditional favor the OVER going 14 of 21 on the OVER. However, in their last seven games five of those have hit the UNDER.

Meanwhile, Seattle, on the back of their defense, favors the UNDER, having UNDER bettors collecting in five of their last seven game.

The Packers and Seahawks will determine an NFC Champions starting at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX this Sunday.
