‘Explosive’ Ronald Jones Given Backing by Arians
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones is set to have a breakout season, that’s according to coach Bruce Arians.Â
Ronald Jones is entering his second NFL year. He has impressed Arians throughout training camp, and the coach raved about him on Tuesday.
“He’s an explosive player, he’s going to be a heck of a player for us. He’s going to make big plays like that for us,” Arians said.

Ronald Jones totaled 44 rushing yards and 1 touchdown on 23 carries and 7 receptions for 33 yards in 9 appearances. The type of breakthrough Arians is talking about would represent a big upgrade on his rookie season.Â
Part of the plan for Jones’ success is fellow running back Peyton Barber. Arians believed that the two running backs can work in tandem next season.
Barber had a personal best season in 2018, his third. He had 871 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns on 234 attempts and 20 receptions and a touchdown for 92 yards. He continues to solidify his NFL status after going undrafted in 2016.

“Oh yeah, it’s going to be a heck of a one-two punch,” Arians said.Â
“Whichever one is the one and whichever one is the two, they are both going to play.”
