Falcons’ Roddy White Believes It Is Time For Julio Jones To Get Paid
With Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant recently signing lucrative long-term contracts, veteran wide receiver Roddy White of the Atlanta Falcons believes it is time for his teammate Julio Jones to cash in, too.
According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, White said the following about his teammate’s current contract situation with the Falcons:
#Falcons WR Roddy White 2 me: "If I was the GM I would get a deal done with Julio (Jones) now. I want to make sure he’s paid. That’s my guy"

In four seasons in Atlanta, Jones has racked up 4,424 yards from scrimmage to go along with 26 touchdowns. Although Jones has had health issues during his time with the Falcons, the 26-year-old wideout is among the best receivers in the game when healthy and more than deserving of a lucrative deal in comparison to ones recently signed by Bryant and Thomas.
Unfortunately for Jones, the Falcons have yet to enter negotiations with the young wideout. Although this may be unfortunate, Jones, along with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, definitely benefits from Bryant and Thomas setting the market value.
One major benefit for the Falcons heading into next season will be Jones trying to prove himself as one of the elite receivers in the NFL. As long as quarterback Matt Ryan and Jones can stay healthy, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem and the end result will be highly profitable for both parties.
