The Dallas Cowboys suffered a major blow to their Super Bowl title hopes in Week 1 with star wide receiver Dez Bryant going down with a severe foot injury. The injury is so severe that the Cowboys fear he could be out a considerable amount of time.

News of Bryant’s injury spread like wildfire around the NFL with many chiming in on how it’ll impact the Cowboys moving forward. Fellow star wideouts Julio Jones and Roddy White of the Atlanta Falcons talked about Bryant’s injury recently and believe the All-Pro will miss the rest of the season, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

“Me and Julio [Jones] were talking about the whole situation,” White said. “When [Jones] heard that [Bryant] broke his foot he was like, ‘He’s got the same injury I got.’ And, you know, we had to shut [Julio] down for the whole entire year. So I just don’t see him making it back this year.”

With Jones suffering a similar season-ending injury in the past, the perennial Pro Bowler knows what Bryant will have to go through to get back on the field. Losing Bryant is a devastating blow for the Cowboys with the team’s sights set on contending for a Super Bowl.

As of right now, there’s been no set timetable for Bryant’s return to the gridiron for the Cowboys. Dallas made a trade on Tuesday to address the loss of Bryant in the receiving corps by adding Brice Butler from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a draft pick.

In Week 2, the Cowboys will go on the road to face the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas will be underdogs heading into another divisional matchup with a +5.5 point spread, according to Sportsbook.ag.

As for the Falcons, the dirty birds are flying high coming off an impressive win over the Eagles. Jones came into his own on Monday night with a solid performance racking up 141 yards on nine catches with two touchdowns. Atlanta will face the New York Giants in Week 2 with the Falcons currently +1.5 underdogs.
