Gordon Hayward Return a Boost for Boston Celtics
Jayson Tatum says that the Boston Celtics are a better team when returning forward Gordon Hayward is with them.
Gordon Hayward played 31 minutes of Boston’s 117 – 106 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday. It was his first action since August 17, when he sustained an ankle sprain against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Celtics now trail the Heat 1 – 2, and will play Game 4 on Thursday night. According to Tatum, they will be in a better position for the presence of Gordon Hayward, who gave them some good news on Saturday.
Hayward said that he will remain in the Orlando bubble should his wife go into labor with their fourth child.

“It meant everything,” Tatum said of his return.Â
“It’s crazy that anybody would think we would be better without him. We are so much better when he is out there and obviously we are so much more dynamic, so much more versatile when he is out there.”
Hayward’s original plan was to attend the birth of his next child. It appears after returning from injury to help Boston to a win, he’s had a change of heart.
“Robyn could be having a baby at any point in time,” Hayward said.

“It’s probably something I’ll be here. By the time I get back, I might miss the birth if she goes in and she rushes to the hospital. We discussed it and we prayed about it. I think it’s probably best if I stay here and help our team.”
Hayward scored 6 points in 31 minutes on Saturday night. It remains to be seen how much time the 30 year old will get on the court on Thursday.
