The once mighty Washington Nationals are struggling, is it time to bet against them?

The Nationals started the season as one of the favorites to win it all. They had 5-1 odds to win the World Series in the futures. Their predicted win total was set at 94.

Fast forward to now, the Nats are barely clinging to a .500 winning percentage with a 60-60 record. They are four games behind the New York Mets in the NL East. Winning over 94 games seems like a long shot with just 42 games left play.

The books have began to drop the Nats down the futures list. They are now down to around 16-1 odds in the World Series odds.

The Nats lost their last game against Colorado despite being -190 favorites. They lost nine of their last ten road games and are 3-7 over their last ten overall.

Their playoff hopes are looking dismal, as well. They are 8.5 games behind in the NL wild card race, so it is going to take a big turn around and soon for Washington to still have a chance.
