James Harden Couldn’t Save Rockets VS Grizzlies

In what is becoming a regular occurence, James Harden made NBA history on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

James Harden scored 57 points to help the Rockets to come from behind and force overtime. Houston couldn’t hang on, and eventually lost the game 126 – 125.

Despite the fact that he and the Rockets lost, the story of the game is still all about James Harden. He took responsibility after his team were 17 points down, and pulled out another world class performance.

“We put ourselves in a hole and tried to pick it up, but it was too late,” Harden said.

“We were down [17], so I had to do something.”

Harden’s 57 points are a replica of the 57 he scored against the Grizzlies on January 14. He is the the third player to record multiple 50 point games against the same team in a season. The two other players to do this in the last 30 years are Kobe Bryant and Wilt Chamberlain.

As well as that, it was his seventh 50 point game of the season. Harden became the second player to record a 50 point game in 5 consecutive months, joining Wilt Chamberlain.

He came to life in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 points during a 17 – 2 rally for the Houston Rockets. It brought the score back to 106 – 104, after which he hit three free throws with four seconds left. As a result, the game was sent to overtime at 115 each.
