Joe Burrow: We Know What It Takes After Super Bowl LVI

Quarterback Joe Burrow says the Bengals finally know how to win after a barren period in the franchise’s history.

Before last season, the Cincinnati Bengals hadn’t reached the playoffs since 2015. Additionally, they hadn’t won a playoff game since January 1991.

It was the NFL’s longest stretch without a playoff win in the history of the league. The Bengals put that all to rest last season when they reached Super Bowl LVI.

They were a few possessions away from being champions, but ultimately lost out to the Los Angeles Rams.

This year, the Bengals must do something else they have never done before: win playoff games in consecutive seasons.

Joe Burrow says the experience of last season will push them on to even greater heights this time around.

“Going into last year, we knew we were good, but I think going into the playoffs, we knew we could win but we weren’t really sure what it took,” Joe Burrow said Tuesday. “We just went out there and played really hard and together as a team, and it worked out.

“Now, we know what it takes and we have that experience in our back pockets going forward.”

“We’ve seen it, we’ve done it,” Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins said. “And we know what it takes to get back to that point. That’s our standard now. That’s our standard for this team. Ain’t no looking back.”
