Joe Flacco is Denver’s Number One

Former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco has been assured that he is the Denver Broncos number one quarterback.

Joe Flacco was traded to the Denver Broncos from the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. The Broncos then picked up Missouri quarterback Drew Luck in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

There was good reason for Joe Flacco to be concerned, as a similar situation led to his trade from Baltimore. While he was there, the Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson in the first round. Jackson eventually made the Ravens team his own.

However, Flacco’s starting place isn’t under threat, as Broncos coach Vic Fangio outlined, via NFL.com.

“Joe [Flacco] will take all of the reps with the first team,” Fangio said.

“Then we have an open competition after that and we’ll randomly play those with the twos and the threes when we do our reps.”

Flacco is set to enter his 12th NFL season with the Denver Broncos. As well as Lock, he will compete with Kevin Hogan and Brett Rypien for the quarterback spot.
