Kyler Murray: Cardinals Have To ‘Execute Better’
For the first time this season, the Arizona Cardinals’ playoff spot is in doubt. Quarterback Kyler Murray insists there’s no reason to be worried.
After starting the season 5 – 2, the Cardinals have won only one of their past five games. At 6 – 6, they’ve moved out of the final playoff spot with four games left.
Their recent poor run of form means that the pressure is on in terms of postseason qualification. However, Kyler Murray says the team can’t afford to put pressure on themselves.
They lost their last game to the Rams 38 – 28, but Kyler Murray thinks the margins are tighter than that.

“Obviously, as bad as it felt in the first half, we lost the game by 10 points,” Murray said.
“A lot of these games, we’re right there, it’s just a couple things don’t go our way or we put pressure on ourselves.
“We make it harder than it has to be. If we just simplify these games, it’s pretty simple in itself, but at the same time it’s hard to execute at this level. But I’m not worried about the pressure or anything like that.”
Arizona’s last four games are against the Giants, Eagles, 49ers and then the Rams again at home. New York will be a particularly tough test as they have won their last four games.

“I don’t listen to outsiders,” Murray continued.Â
“None of this affects me. I understand what’s going to happen inside those lines, prepare for the worst. I’m not tripping over it. With the good and the bad, I understand what’s going to happen. I’m not really too worried about it.
“We’ve got to be better each and every day, we’ve got to execute better. We’ve got to pay more attention to details.”
