Lamar Jackson Targeting Increased Mobility In 2024

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson says the team has a chip on its shoulder after losing to the Chiefs last season.

Lamar Jackson put together an MVP campaign to help Baltimore towards the No.1 seed in the AFC. However, they were defeated at home in the AFC Championship game by the eventual Super Bowl winners.

Lamar Jackson says the defeat has driven the Ravens throughout the Spring.

“I believe that just motivated us throughout the whole offseason,” Jackson said

“People (are) still talking about it, us players still talk about it. It definitely left a bitter taste in our mouth just being that close. We worked so hard to get there and didn’t do what we wanted to do, didn’t fulfill our dream. Definitely a little chip on our shoulder.”

There’s no risk of Jackson being weighed down by that, though. In fact, he’s turned up for offseason activities slimmer than he was last season.

It continues a trend of the dual-threat quarterback losing weight every offseason. Jackson has gone from 230 pounds in 2022 to 205 currently.

“I can be more agile, be able to move more,” Jackson told reporters on Wednesday. “I feel great right now.”

“Lamar’s a pro. He knows what he’s doing, he knows where he wants to be with that,” head coach John Harbaugh said.

“My concern is that he’s in shape — best shape of his life — and that he’s working toward that, ready football wise, all the details that goes with that.”
